Tolton Catholic has the following coaching or sponsor positions available for the 2022-23 school year:
- Golf – girls – Coach
Responsibilities:
Program Management:
- Work with Athletic and Activity Director to establish high level goals and strategic plan for the program and to schedule competitions and practices
- Provide age-appropriate instruction
- Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate student-athlete abilities initially and on a regular basis
- Take all necessary precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Keep informed of and ensure compliance with school and MSHSAA policies
- Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation, including but not limited to, grades, physicals, and practice time
Student Management:
- Teach and coach:
- Respect for the sport
- Taking responsibility for their actions
- Representing the team and school with integrity and dignity
- Mental toughness
- Accompany and supervise student athletes during athletic competitions and practices
- Apply and enforce student discipline during contests, practices, and while on trips off school property in accordance with school and MSHSAA policies
- Develop each student and student-athlete into the total person in spirit, mind, heart, and body
General:
- Establish and maintain open communication with athletic and activity department, parents, students, principals, and teachers
- Demonstrate support for the mission of Fr. Tolton Catholic High School by attitude, words, actions, and integrity
- Assist in maintaining discipline by enforcing the expectations in the Student Handbook
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Athletics and Activities Director
Qualification:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Demonstrate competency in program
- General knowledge of coaching techniques
- Ability to instruct and supervise students and student-athletes
- Understand the high school education culture and be able to interact professionally with students, faculty, and parents
- Ability to maintain professionalism in challenging situations
Physical Demands and other requirements:
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks such as computer keyboarding, writing, and reading
- Frequent district-wide and statewide travel
- Prolonged and irregular hours
- Outdoor exposure to weather conditions
- Required to monitor students in a variety of locations including those with noise and activity
- Required to maintain composure and to communicate appropriately in words and actions
