Tolton Catholic High School is a fully accredited college preparatory Catholic High School located in Columbia, MO. By teaching respect for the dignity of every human person, we facilitate the growth of the whole student: spirit, heart, mind, and body. The school offers a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum designed to ready students for college and post-secondary success. In preparing our students for the 21st Century, our teachers provide ample investigative opportunities for students, to enhance their critical thinking, communication, creativity, collaborative, and information literacy skills.

  • Fr. Tolton Catholic High School – Kitchen Assistant

Job Summary:
Fr. Tolton Catholic High School in Columbia, Missouri currently has an opening for a Kitchen Assistant.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the chef in preparing and plating meals
  • Prepare simple meals such as salads or desserts
  • Wash, peal, slice, chop, shred, and grate ingredients as needed by the chef
  • Assist with serving meals, remembering dietary requirements for specific students
  • Adhere to food safety standards at all times, making sure that all food is free or contaminants and pathogens
  • Clean dishes, pots, pans, work stations, equipment, and food storage areas, adhering to safety and sanitation standards at all times
  • Sweep and mop floors as needed
  • Assist with unloading deliveries and stocking inventory
  • Assist with reviewing inventory needs
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service with a positive demeanor, fielding any requests promptly, answering questions, and making meal suggestions when asked
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Chef or President

Qualifications:

  • Food handler’s certification card
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, cleaning, and maintenance
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to react with appropriate levels of urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround
  • Ability to complete a high volume of tasks with limited supervision
  • Ability to multitask with frequent interruptions

Hours:

  • Full-time or (2) Part-time positions
    • When school is in session and lunch is being served
      • Part-time hours: 4 – 5 hours per day
      • or Full-time hours: 8 hours per day
    • No hours during school breaks such as Christmas, summer, etc.

Physical Demands and other requirements:

  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks such as standing for long periods of time, chopping, serving, and washing
  • Required to be aware of students in the lunch line, including noise and activity
  • Required to maintain composure and to communicate appropriately in words and actions

  • Fr. Tolton Catholic High School – Custodian – Part-time

Job Summary:
Fr. Tolton Catholic High School in Columbia, Missouri currently has an opening for a part-time Custodian to work during the evenings and some weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and clean-up for events
  • Secure facility
  • Ensure spaces are cleaned daily and tidying furniture
  • Use equipment, vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners
  • Trash removal daily
  • Clean bathrooms and classrooms daily
  • Restock toilet paper, hand towels, and soap
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms
  • Deep clean the facility periodically
  • Undertake some heavy lifting (moving chairs, tables, etc)
  • Mowing / weed eating may be requested during summer hours
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager or President

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as custodian, janitor, or similar role
  • Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
  • Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
  • Strong work ethic
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently

Hours:

  • 20 – 28 hours per week part-time position working evenings and some weekends

Responsibilities:

  • Program Management:
    • Work with Athletic and Activity Director to establish high level goals and strategic plan for the program and to schedule competitions and practices
    • Provide age-appropriate instruction
    • Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate student-athlete abilities initially and on a regular basis
    • Take all necessary precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities
    • Keep informed of and ensure compliance with school and MSHSAA policies
    • Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation, including but not limited to, grades, physicals, and practice time

     

    Student Management

    • Teach and coach:
      • Respect for the sport
      • Taking responsibility for their actions
      • Representing the team and school with integrity and dignity
      • Mental toughness
    • Accompany and supervise student athletes during athletic competitions and practices
    • Apply and enforce student discipline during contests, practices, and while on trips off school property in accordance with school and MSHSAA policies
    • Develop each student and student-athlete into the total person in spirit, mind, heart, and body

     

    General

    • Establish and maintain open communication with athletic and activity department, parents, students, principals, and teachers
    • Demonstrate support for the mission of Fr. Tolton Catholic High School by attitude, words, actions, and integrity
    • Assist in maintaining discipline by enforcing the expectations in the Student Handbook
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Athletics and Activities Director

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Demonstrate competency in program
  • General knowledge of coaching techniques
  • Ability to instruct and supervise students and student athletes
  • Understand the high school education culture and be able to interact professionally with students, faculty, and parents
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in challenging situations
